The HCM City Television Cycling Tournament will begin on March 29.

The event, which is scheduled to be held from March 29 to April 30, will make history as the bike race with the world’s largest number of stages. The Tour de France, an annual multiple stage bicycle race in France, only consists of 21 stages.

According to the organisers, this year the event will have 30 stages to celebrate the 30th anniversary since the opening of the race.

The event will begin from Lang Son to Hanoi and then travel via many central and southern provinces to HCM City on April 30 to mark the 43rd anniversary of Southern Vietnam’s liberation and the Reunification Day (April 30, 1975- 2018).

The event will give winners the biggest bonuses ever with the total award of VND2 billion (US$87,000). The winner of the overall yellow jersey award will receive VND300 million (US$13,000).
